The live chats with authors was such a huge success over the last two years that I have decided to continue them in 2012. In past years each chat began at 9 PM ET. However, this year that time will be adjusted to better accommodate the author whom I am hosting that day. The official chat post will be submitted the night before the chat. Many authors give away free books during the live chats.

I loved Tangerine Morning by Rita Garcia. It was exciting, interesting and filled with a wonderful storyline. This is the second in the series call Serenity Cove. I often worry when I start a book in a series. Many of them must be read in sequence but this one was easy to pick up on from the beginning. I enjoyed it so much that I am going to purchase the first in the series. The author uses much imagery in Tangerine Morning. I felt like I was in the midst of the story, just watching and feeling the emotions of the characters. I loved how the land and area was described in such a way that I could see the beauty. Even though this is a fictional place, I would love to visit it. Yep, it was that descriptive. The storyline kept my interest thought out the book. I did not want the story to end.
This was the first book I had read by this author but it will not be the last. I rate this book a 5 star and recommend it to anyone who is looking to escape this world for a while and be taken away to Serenity Cove. FROM THE BACK OF THE BOOK: Romance, mystery and family drama intertwine in the small town of Serenity Cove.
The fictional town of Serenity Cove boasts of beautiful sunsets and roaring waves. Its characters are as varied as the stars that shine on its diamond crusted-sea. Shoreview Drive provides a scenic drive along the coast, although most residents simply call it the coastal road. Serenity Cove is a contemporary town where people are still good neighbors and family and friends are an important part of everyday life. Where life is a step back in time, blending the best of both worlds. Even a town as wonderful as Serenity Cove has its villains...
Slip into paradise with Rita’s Inspirational Romance: Tangerine Morning, Jezzica's Story. Book Two of the Serenity Cove Series.
Jezzica Leigh, a young widow, struggles in her relationship with Christ and with starting over. She moves to Serenity Cove and purchases the Sea Glass Bookshop on Main Street, in hopes of letting go of the past and moving forward with her life.
Detective Zack Johnston, the first man her heart reacts to since her husband’s death, also represents a world that failed to bring her husband’s murderers to justice. The same criminals that now seek to harm Jezzica.
Can Dr. Ellie Clarimonde help Jezzica find her way back to Christ and the freedom to love again?
“…but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” ~Isaiah 40:31 ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Dr. Rita Garcia writes Inspirational Hope-filled Fiction. Romance is a big part of her novels. Hope is an even larger element of the stories.
She is currently working on a series of contemporary novels set in the small town of Serenity Cove. Romance, mystery and family drama intertwine in the small town of Serenity Cove. Rita resides in southern California with her husband, Joe Garcia. They have four adorable daughters and seven fantastic grandchildren who fill their lives with love, laughter, and never a dull moment.  Twisted wolf by Perry Perrett sounded like a book I could really get into. The storyline as written on the back of the book sounded exciting and intriguing. I usually enjoy reading books about war, politics and conspiracy but I just could not get into this book. I started reading it and put it down. I later picked it up again and stated from the beginning. This time I was determined to read it in its entirety. It did not hold my interest as well as I like a book to. I found myself skipping over it due to extended scenes that in my opinion could have been left out and made for a much more exciting story. It was not quite as fast paces as I like my action stories written.
I can see this book as a movie and would go see it on opening weekend. I rate this book a 4 star and would recommend it to readers who enjoy a good story with longer scenes than the typical fast paced story. I did enjoy the storyline in general. Thus the 4 star rating.   From the Back of Book: What if the most upright person, stumbles? Oh, and that person, is the President of the United States? And, in the process of attempting to conceal his mistake, he is accused of treason and murder? Army Lieutenant Josh Davis suffers a devastating tragedy while home on military leave. Trusting God for strength, he triumphs, earning the Congressional Medal of Honor. But heroism comes with consequences. Years later, a conservative group asks Josh to run for the Oval Office. To his surprise, to get there, he must campaign against his father-in-law, a former one-term President. Their political, and personal, embattlement ends with a surprising twist of fate. Discover what happens when Josh finds himself in the highest office in the nation. His pride increases, devours his faith and he gives into temptation. Observe as he attempts to cover up his sin. Witness his wife as she watches her husband’s downward spiral and potential guilt. Walk with Josh, as he struggles with his own inner conflict of trusting God. Is it too late to save his marriage and his presidency? Ascertain his guilt during his impeachment for treason and the murder of six Navy SEALs.  About the Author: When not escaping reality in one of his stories, Perry Perrett is a husband, father & grandfather.
He loves Jesus and writing fiction. He also loves talking about Jesus and His written word. When not doing one of the above, you’ll likely find Perry in the outdoors with his wife, Kathie, enjoying God’s wonderful creation. Perry has been a follower of Christ Jesus since 1973, having accepted God’s grace at age 11. For over twenty years, he served as a Pastor in Mississippi, Texas, Illinois, and Iowa ranging from Southern Baptist, independent, to non-denominational. Over those years, he worked with some great men of God and saw many people come to a relationship with Christ. One of his fondest memories was co-chairing a team of about 15 people in coordinating a 2 ½ week city-wide crusade involving eight churches from various denominations and a visiting ministry team of over 35 individuals. It was truly wonderful to see God move in so many lives. Even through the mode of communication may change, Perry will always tell people about God’s grace found in Christ Jesus. As mentioned above, the author met Kathie on an airplane. That happened as a result of his  joining the Mississippi Air National Guard as an Aircraft Loadmaster on the C-141 Starlifter. During my military service, I participated in Hurricane Hugo Relief, flying supplies to the Virgin Islands, receiving the Air Force Achievement Medal. He  also served in Operation Just Cause, the invasion of Panama in December 1989. He ended his military service after serving in The Persian Gulf War, also called Operation Desert Shield / Storm. My heart just broke for Jonathan Anthony Burkett as I read his true story "Neglected But Undefeated". I could feel his pain as he felt unloved and unwanted just by reading his words. This book is filled with stories of a life of struggle, pain and confusion but in spite of these trials, Jonathan came out a winner because he grew from these experiences. It was so sad, yet so uplifting to see that in spite of what other people do, there are still those who are stronger than the storms that plague their lives. I guess we all need reminding at times that we have so very much to be thankful for. This book reminded me of that.
I rate this book a 5 star. . I highly recommend this book but do warn the reader that it is hard to read at times due to the trials that are spoken of. If you want to be reminded that others have trials worse than most of us, this is the book for you. About the book: This book is a surprising, dramatic, unbelievable and heartbreaking story of one young man who went through trials and tribulations, feeling unloved, unwanted, never needed, and unexpected, from a lady that he had finally understood was his true mother (the one he was told loved him the most in the world no matter what she does and says to him). Growing up, he feels like there was and could not be any future or purpose for his life because he was being told that he could die any day. About the Author: Jonathan Anthony Burkett was born in 1987. He told himself, that he would never give up, regardless of the trials and tribulations. He decided to write in order to help himself move towards a brighter future for himself; and also because he knows that's what his Grandparents want for him.

"Don't Forget to Pack the Kids" looks like a short read at only 134 pages but I am here to warn you that this book will consume you entirely for more than just reading those pages. I loved this book. It was information that anyone can use even if they are not going on a mission. Just traveling cross country with kids is a challenge these days and this information could make that trip safer and more enjoyable. I wish I had read these tips before we started cross country with our daughter all those years ago. It was entertaining yet Spiritual at the same time. I really don't know how to explain it. You will just have to read the book.
The author writes in a manner that reached out and touched my heart. She shares information about her and her family while on a mission. She goes into detail about the transformations that occur in her young daughters. I felt like I was there with them. I felt like I knew her daughters and the others whom they interacted with. I could see her daughter with long hair feel more confident as the ladies just bragged on what beautiful hair she had. I loved this book The advice was usable even if one is not going out of the country. I found myself even reading the appendix with great interest. I liked how she told the story from different perspectives. This book had a storyline but it also had tips. It was different than I expected. I highly recommend it and give it a 5 star rating. ABOUT THE BOOK: Short-term missions have traditionally been the province of singles, youth groups, and married-with-no-kids. Five years ago, few would have picked up a book about taking the family on a short-term mission. Now, more and more of us 30 and 40-somethings with kids are asking―
Why can’t we do something meaningful for others with our kids?
Why do we have to wait until they’re teens and then and pack them off on a youth group trip?
Why can’t we let them experience using their gifts in ministry now?
And why can’t we discover those gifts alongside one another in an experience they’ll never forget? Well, you can. With some planning specifically geared toward making a family mission trip successful, you can. And you should. Don’t Forget to Pack the Kids interweaves personal experience stories with extensive how-to information.
Statistics tell us over three-fourths of our kids will leave the church when they leave home. Why? Part of the reason is their feeling that church is irrelevant to their lives and they can get entertainment and fulfillment elsewhere. If we taught our kids early that the church is relevant because they are the church, and it is fulfilling because they fill it with their gifts and ministry, we could reverse those statistics. Serving together can be a huge part of that. Jill has a BA in English and Education and an MDiv in theology. She is ordained in the Free Methodist Church and has served as a worship, preaching, and discipleship pastor. She is also a professional speaker available for speaking engagements. Jill is represented by Diana Flegel at Hartline Literary Agency.
With three daughters, three cats, and (thankfully!) only one husband, she keeps busy otherwise with community theater, gardening, reading, scrapbooking, and bugging her last child to do 4H projects. Jill loves oceans, cats, chocolate, teenagers, her family, the Cubs, and God, not necessarily in that order. Follow Jill on her Website, Blog, Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin or on Youtube. I am one of those unfortunate gals who have gray hair and do not like it. It seemed that following each surgery I had more gray hair. I was not going to turn gray quietly so I tried home hair coloring kits. I found that they dried my hair out. I switched to salon hair coloring. It was too expensive and was faded within a couple weeks. What is a gal to do? I
I am a bzzagent and was ask to try Garnier Olia hair color. I was excited because I have gotten my hair colored four times since moving to Illinois and they cannot get my hair to take color. They did not even charge me the first three times. We packing to go to WV when my bzzkit arrived. I took my kit with me and opened it in the van. It had a coupon for a free box of Garnier Olia hair color of my choice. We stopped to gas up and I noticed a CVS across the street. My mind went to the color of hair that I envisioned and across the road I went. They had a very limited choice of colors available but I opted to get the light brown. I called my daughter and ask her if she would color my hair when we arrived. She said "yeah" and hoped that I would forget. I did not forget. At 9 PM she is coloring my hair. This has been over three weeks ago. This is my current opinion: - The color did has not faded in three weeks A+
- The color looks natural and shinny A+
- The color still makes my hair feel soft. A+
Unlike traditional hair color, Garnier Olia uses an exclusive 60% oil blend with natural flower oils to achieve maximum color performance while visibly improving and restoring hair*.
*restores hair by improving smoothness and shine Yes, I do feel that my hair is in better shape than it has been with other hair colors I have used including salon hair coloring. Like I stated above, it has been over three weeks and my hair is still soft but I do use quality shampoo and conditioner.
Garnier Olia hair color was less drippy than other self-color formulas and it is permanent. I love the shine and after three weeks, it is still shiny. It had a pleasant scent. No itching of my head or burning. The gray was completely covered except there needed to be more in the package. Over-all I am very pleased and will be purchasing Garnier Olia in the future. It is expensive so I will keep my eyes open watching for sales. The color is a bit darker than it appears on the box. It took about 30 minutes to color. Easy to rinse out but the tub was messier than other hair colors I have used. Had to scrub it up quickly. The problems I encountered: - There was not enough hair color in the package for my hair even though it was short. Normally I do purchase two to three boxes of hair color but my hair was so short that I thought one box would work.
- It is expensive. I suggest watching for sales and using coupons.
Disclaimer: I am a bzzagent and did receive a coupon for one box of Garnier Olia Hair color for free. My review is not impacted by this fact. I give honest reviews.

I cannot say enough good things about author Michael J. Webb. I loved his writing style in "The Oldest Enemy"! He carried my mind into a world of its own, where at times I felt fear so strong I found myself looking around to see if someone was here. I felt the fear of the characters as they struggled in a way that I seldom feel when reading a book. I felt like a movie was being played out before my eyes only I did not have to view it on a screen. His style brought such vivid scenes that I was afraid to go to sleep until I finished the book.
As a history buff, the storyline really appealed to me. I could see analogies from days gone by and things that are yet to come to pass. It added just enough intrigue to draw me in from the first chapter, enough action and suspense to keep me there until the end. It left me hungering for more of this authors tales.  The storyline was like no other book that I had ever read. Often, stories are a bid different but a lot alike that I feel like I am re-reading a story but this book was different. It was unique and refreshing. I would definitely recommend it to my friends. I will be reading more of this authors books.  This story had the whole package going for it. It was well written and well thought out. It was unpredictable as well. I just never knew what was going to happen in the next chapter. I loved it! I rate it a 5 star and would rate it higher if I could. I would love to see this book as a movie.  ABOUT THE BOOK:  David Lighthouse was once a hard-hitting investigative reporter for the Denver Post—back before he was accused of the brutal murder of his fiancé and his life unraveled. Now, six years later, he is the assistant pastor of a small church in Florida. Armed with faith, sobriety, and a resurrected sense of purpose, he’s putting together a new life. But when one of his young parishioners is murdered, David’s old instincts reemerge. Once again the prime suspect, he fights to clear his name even as disturbing clues at the crime scene reveal a haunting connection not only to his fiancé’s unsolved murder but to his estranged father’s secret past. David suddenly finds himself the target of sinister, supernatural forces as he tracks down a conspiracy to release an ancient evil upon an unsuspecting world. Along with his father, the murdered girl’s sister, and a fierce Auschwitz survivor, David faces hell itself to prove his innocence and stop a reclusive German billionaire from unleashing a worldwide holocaust.    ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Michael J. Webb graduated summa cum laude from the University of Florida and obtained his J. D. from the same university. Over the past forty years he has traveled the world in search of adventure. He is a history buff, both ancient and modern, and is fascinated by the intersection of the scientific, supernatural, and Biblical world views, and has studied and taught from the Bible extensively for more than twenty-five years. He is also intrigued by recent discoveries in quantum physics that are now providing extraordinary insights into the reality of the spirit realm, especially as it relates to the study of Light. He incorporates all of the above into his supernatural thrillers. Michael and his wife make their home in Charlotte, North Carolina.  Connect with Michael on Facebook or his blog. "Reflections of Rosalyn, A Life of Victory" by Theresa Franklin just did not seem to keep my attention. It was filled with flashbacks, so to speak of a gal who is reflecting on her childhood choices. I did not seem to relate to the authors style in this book. I think it would have been more interesting if it had been written about the girl as she grew up but the continuous flash backs just confused me.
I would rate this book a 3 star because I think it does have potential but just not my style of a book. I would not really recommend it to my friends because they seem to have the same taste in books that I do.   I would consider reading another book by this author to see if her writing style varies from this book.   ABOUT THE BOOK: Rosalyn is a recent widow facing life alone for the first time in over forty years. She spends time looking back at her life as a young girl, Rosie, and how each episode in her life was a stepping stone to get her where she is today. Rosie has a tumultuous childhood and a terrible relationship with her self-centered mother. As a teenager she faces an unplanned pregnancy. Her decision about that pregnancy will shape the decisions she must make for the rest of her life. The first decision she makes is to leave home. She finds work in an assisted living facility, which is the root of many comical interactions. The book is a series of flashbacks with events of today reminding Rosalyn of a time in her earlier life as Rosie. This is a book of laughter and tears. There were many times when I, as the author, had to stop writing and compose myself before I could continue. There were just as many when I actually laughed aloud as my characters interacted. This is a story that grew from my heart. It is a story of victory. Rosie, the teenager, must overcome many obstacles in her life to become Rosalyn, the woman. ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Theresa Franklin has lived outside of Beaumont, Texas for 38 years. Theresa taught for 12 years, then moved into administration. As she was preparing for retirement, she decided to fulfill her life-long desire of writing books.

Finding Faith in the City Care Forgot by Teena Myers is one of those books that grabs your heart and spiritually uplifts you to a higher level. This was an amazing book with a lesson tucked in. This book was just what I needed to read. I had forgotten it was on my Nook. I love books that make me think, smile and get that peaceful feeling inside. This book managed to do all that. I enjoyed reading every page. There was no boring analogy that some authors add to just fill pages. I came away from this book feeling good about myself and feeling confident that Heavenly Father does love me, hears my prayers and answers them.
The thing I liked most about this book was that it made me analyze my own life. That is always a good thing for me. I added several written pages to my personal journal while reading this book. I rate it a 5 star and would like to have it in paperback form so I could go crazy with my red pencil. I like to write notes in my books. I under line phrases that really grab me and you just can't do this with an ebook.  ABOUT THE BOOK: Do you wonder if God still intervenes in human lives? Can he heal us spiritually, mentally, and physically? Will he give us hope, direction, peace, protection, and encouragement? Finding Faith in the City Care Forgot is an author’s search for faith that leads her to answered prayers, a hundred year old prophecy fulfilled and a thirty-eight year old mystery revealed, but it was the atheist who solidified her faith in God.  ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Teena Myers is a freelance writer, certified Belief Therapist, Member of the Southern Christian Writers Guild and the Northshore Literary Society. She worked in Children's ministry, Christian television and taught Sunday School before she found her God given niche of writing. Teena lives in New Orleans with Rod, her husband of 27 years.

I really enjoyed reading Susanne Lakin's book "A Thin Film of Lies".  This book is a homicide novel filled with suspense and action, with a spiritual overtone to it. It was exciting and engaging while still not being too graphic. It is a Christian novel but has a bit of worldly tones to the storyline. It is not for the traditional Christian reader. The author adds a bit of intrigue and real to life crime in this book.
I enjoyed this book and would recommend it to friends. I would warn them that that it is not for late night reading as it may cause some to be scared who are readers of traditional Christian novels. I rate this book a 5 star. It captured my interest and kept it throughout the story. I enjoyed the storyline and the heart-pounding additions of real to life crimes.  ABOUT THE BOOK: The story tells of a homicide detective, Fran Anders, whose next case throws her into the lives of Mike and Alisa Jepson, a couple whose marriage is disintegrating fast. When leads coming into the precinct point at Mike Jepson as guilty of murder, Fran watches the damage wrought on this couple, yet is unable to ignore the incriminating evidence. When Mike ends up arrested and in jail, Alisa takes comfort in a friend—Dee Dee—who moves in with her but soon becomes her worst nightmare. Mike hires a PI who uncovers clues to who is setting Mike up, but Alisa is caught in a trap before Mike can protect her. Although Fran reaches out to Alisa during her crisis of faith, she is unable to stop events from barreling toward a crash. Yet, despite the tragedies to follow, Fran sees how God has used the Jepsons’ trials and pain to bring Alisa back into His arms, with hope that Mike might follow suit. Fran is a dedicated, no-frills cop who takes her job seriously but with a wry sense of humor. She suffers from the unbearable heat, from unrelenting allergies, but does not suffer fools. As much as she wants to please her superiors, she knows her true boss is—God—and she answers first and foremost to his leading, which sometimes takes her beyond the call of duty, often to the ire of those around her. A middle-aged, divorced, single parent with two teens, Fran hopes someday to find a great man and remarry, but she’s not holding her breath. Right now, she just wants to be a good cop and mother, and use her faith to help those she encounters in her line of work learn there’s someone “up there†who truly cares for them.    About the Author: Susanne Lakin C. S. Lakin is a novelist and professional copyeditor who lives in the San Francisco Bay Area. I was really disappointed by this book. I expected to read an emotional, spiritual journey about Samantha and God. I found this book to be hard to read because it was not well written. The author is an Amazon best seller but I could not connect with her story. She rambled to the point of boredom. I would not recommend this book to my friends. It is very short. In fact I would call it a short story as it is only 108 pages long. I think it would be much more suited in a collection of short stories with some rambling taken out. I felt like there was words added just to make the story longer. This book did not capture my attention nor did it ever keep it. I did read the book but did not enjoy it.
I would rate this book a 2 star at best. i really wanted to like this book but it just didn't happen for me. This may be the lowest rating I have ever given a book. ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Samantha Ryan was born in a colorful, town in Louisiana. Convinced that the world had to be bigger than her hometown, she left her familial roots and created a path that took her to cities across the United States and the world. Possessing a natural gift for design and a penchant for history, Samantha channeled those talents into a life full of projects and historical enquiry. In her own words, “being a mom is the greatest job in the world,†Samantha spent the better part of three decades running carpools, cooking hot meals, leading girl scout troops and taking art and fitness classes for and with one or more of her three girls. A series of divine interactions led Samantha to impact a wider range of people than ever before when she co-founded Children’s Cross Connection (now known as Childspring International). Together the two of them brought hundreds of children with life crippling and life threatening ailments and afflictions from developing world countries like Ethiopia, the Philippines, Haiti and others to the United States for donated surgeries. Samantha can be found online at the following links: Official Web Site Twitter: SammieChandler LinkedIn: SamanthaRyanChandler  ABOUT THE BOOK: The tale of Samantha Ryan Chandler's life is evocatively portrayed in her book: A Love Story, How God Pursued Me and Found Me. It tells of a life that is as disturbing and unsettling as it is uplifting and, in the end, gratifying. How "A girl from Nowhere, Louisiana" finds her way from such humble beginnings to live and walk amongst presidents and the supremely rich, only to find her trust and faith betrayed by those that she loved and trusted the most. She would be tested to the point where she began to doubt her own sanity and, at the moment of her greatest desperation and doubt, she was found by God and brought back from the brink of hopeless despair. Blessed with an almost unquenchable optimism and a unique sense of humor, she relates the story of a life that will speak to those who have encountered abuse, unfairness and anguish. Her love for her children and her faith in God carried her through a crucible of fire and in the end, made her a better, stronger person, ready to carry on with a life that is again filled with love, joy and laughter. A Love Story, How God Pursued Me and Found Me will both inspire you and touch your heart. You can purchase this book from your local bookstore or the following online stores: Amazon.com
